“it’s all about tradition”
RICK’S “And the OSCAR POOL goes to…….”
Originally titled "THE MONDAY CAFE' OSCAR POOL ("the Monday Cafe' with Rick Lee" was a weekly radio program broadcasted in the cafeteria of John G. Diefenbaker High School in Calgary, Alberta),
It was there where the humble beginnings of the Academy Awards contest began with a total of 22 people entering.
Every year, the format of the ballot has remained the same while the colour of its entries changes
to coincide with the upcoming spring fashion trends.
Every ten years, The Pool is colourized and returns to its original white.
The OSCAR POOL
has made it on the
red carpet of Hollywood, California three years in a row, and in 2015, the OSCAR POOL arrived online for the very first time in its twenty-fifth year.
On its silver jubilee, a trip to Hollywood was awarded to the ambassador that amassed the most entries.
Hundreds take part across the country as the $2 entry fee has remained the same since its inception in 1995.
It's Oscar's Pool.
